LYNDON ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT

Since 1896, Lyndon Electric Department has provided reliable electricity and superior service to the community of Lyndon and the surrounding towns. Lyndon Electric generates, transmits, and distributes energy to a total of 13 towns in the area.

Lyndon Electric is the largest municipal electric department within the state of Vermont, based on square miles of service territory. Currently serving over 5,700 customers.


Digital Payment Convenience Fee Notice – Effective July 1, 2025

Starting July 1st, convenience fees will be applied to ALL digital payment options which include using a debit card, credit card, autopay or E-check to pay online, Pay By Text or Pay by Phone. 

The fees are paid directly to the processing company and represent the amount charged for each transaction type. 

No fee options include payments made by cash, personal check or money order which can be mailed, left in the drop box or paid at the LED cashier’s office. 

This change is due to the rising costs of processing fees.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause & appreciate your understanding as we manage these increasing costs.

Power Interruption Notice

Thursday July 31st 1:00AM-4:00AM

Customers of The Town of Lyndon Electric Department (LED) in parts of Lyndon, Sutton, and Sheffield will experience a department-initiated power interruption early Thursday morning July 31st for approximately 3 hours from 1:00 AM to 4:00AM to revert to normal operations following the previous emergency shutdown for repairs. Areas affected include Lyndon in the area of Center St., College Rd., Vail Dr., Mountain View Ave., Calista Ave., Overlook Dr., Cotton Rd., Park Ave., Main St., Route 122, Urie Dr., Old Coach Rd., Pudding Hill, Mathewson Hill, Crestwood Lane, Aldrich Lane, Hubbard Hill. Sutton along Freedom Rd., South Ridge, Sheffield Rd., Calendar Brook Rd., Underpass Rd., Route 5 from Pumping Station Rd. to Underpass Rd., King George Farm Rd., Morey Rd. In Sheffield on Berry Hill, Blake Pond Rd., Nelson Hill Rd., Mosher Rd., Sheffield Square Rd., Dunn Mt. Rd., Quarry Rd., and Kenniston Hill.
